Farrakhan Delivers Vintage Anti-Semitic Speech

In a keynote address at the Nation of Islam's (NOI) annual Saviours' Day event in Chicago on February 28, 2010, Louis Farrakhan accused "Zionists" of controlling Congress and the "white right" of trying to set President Obama "up to be assassinated."

Some anti-Semitic highlights from his speech:

Farrakhan accused "Zionists" of undue control over Congress and the Obama administration. He charged that elected officials from both parties align "whenever something comes up that Israel does not like…because the Congress is controlled."
He claimed that Zionists are pressuring Obama to launch a war against Iran. Obama, he said, "wants to end the strife between the Israelis and the Palestinians. He wants to write a new page for the Muslim world but the Zionists won't let him."
He asserted that potential conflicts with the Jewish community are resolved by Obama administration during closed-door meetings in the Oval Office. "Jewish leaders from every Jewish organization met him in the oval office and they said Barack if you have differences with us you should keep it behind the doors," Farrakhan said.

Farrakhan also discussed his experience inside a UFO in the 1980s, noting that there "are Christians praying for God to kill Barack Obama" and advanced conspiratorial theories about international bankers, whom he said "have sucked the blood out of America."

Farrakhan's speech, which lasted more than three hours, ended with a plea for America—and the Christian right, in particular—to redirect their support away from Israel and towards African Americans, whom he described as "the real children of Israel."

Israeli Apartheid Week in the U.S.

The sixth Israeli Apartheid Week begins today and will take place through March 14, 2010, in at least 12 U.S. cities, including Berkeley, Davis, and San Francisco, CA; Hartford and New Britain, CT; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Dutchess County and New York, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; Providence, RI; and Washington, DC.

IAW, which began at the University of Toronto in 2005, is an annual week-long series of events intended to increase awareness and discourse about Israel as an "apartheid regime" akin to that of South Africa.

Past IAW events have featured extreme anti-Israel rhetoric, including accusations of Israeli racism and apartheid, calls for boycott, divestment and sanctions campaigns against Israel and Israeli institutions and allegations that Israel is committing war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people.

Chicago Men Helped Plan 2008 Mumbai Terror Attacks; Surveilled Jewish Targets for Pakistani Terror Group

David Coleman Headley, an American citizen, has been charged with helping plan the November 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai that killed more than 170 people.

Federal authorities have accused Headley, 49, of conducting extensive surveillance of the Mumbai headquarters of the Chabad Lubavitch movement and other locations targeted by suspected members of Pakistani-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) during the November 2008 terrorist attacks.

Canadian citizen Tahawwur Hussain Rana, 48, who is also a resident of Chicago, has been implicated in the Denmark plot and the Mumbai attacks as well. Two weeks after Headley's arrest, federal agents arrested Rana and raided the Chicago offices of First World Immigration Services, an immigration company owned by Rana.

Since his arrest, Headley has cooperated with federal authorities investigating both the Danish and Indian terror plots. He pleaded not guilty to all charges on December 9, 2009. If convicted, Headley faces a maximum sentence of life in prison or death, while Rana faces a maximum prison sentence of 30 years.

Alleging that Israel or the Mossad (Intelligence Agency) Orchestrates Palestinian Suicide Bombings
November 2, 2009

A message alleged that it is likely that the Mossad or Israel, which has a “central-command-structure,” orchestrates Palestinian suicide bombings against Israeli civilians.

Denying Aspects of the Holocaust
September 22, 2009

The author of a message titled “How did the most famous Holocaust-victims leave us?,” stated that he does not deny the Holocaust but doubts its “size” and “content.” The author argued that Anne Frank, one of the “most famous” victims, died of pneumonia, as did “many many German officers” and others during World War II. [Frank actually died of typhus in a concentration camp.] He also contended that the crimes of the Holocaust have been sufficiently repaid: “And finally I refuse completely that any Palestinian pay the price for the Holocaust which, by the way, has already been totally paid…by Germany, and in Cash!!!!!”

Accusing Jews of Trafficking Organs

A message included a link to a conspiratorial article in The Palestine Chronicle accusing Jews of trafficking organs in Algeria. The message was written by Ziyad Zaitoun, the co-founder of the Arab American Community Coalition of Washington, who prefaced the link with, “Very important article. This will show you how low the Zionist will sink.”

Revolution Muslim Poem Asks God To “Kill The Jews”

Revolution Muslim, a small New York City-based Muslim extremist organization, has posted to its Web site a poem asking God to “kill the Jews,” according to the Anti-Defamation League. The poem, posted on October 7, 2009, is signed by the group’s leader Yousef al-Khattab.

In the poem, al-Khattab prays for God’s “wrath on the Jewish occupiers of Palestine & their supporters.” He further lists ways Jews could be hurt, including by burning “their flammable sukkos while they sleep” and throwing “liquid drain cleaner in their faces.”

In RM’s view, most religious Jews are considered to be “supporters” of Israel and generally enemies of God.

U.S. Terror Plots Motivated by Hatred of Jews/Israel

Hosam Maher Husein Smadi, a 19-year-old Jordanian arrested on September 24 for plotting to bomb a 60-story glass office tower in Dal l as, espoused a hatred for Israel and Jews. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reports that Smadi expressed his desire to expel the Jews, “the dogs,” from Jerusalem and to kill the Jews as retribution for Israel’s activities in Gaza, according to the affidavit. Smadi also allegedly called “for the destruction of the Jews,” predicting that “We shall attack them in their very own homes. Brother, by God, we shall attack them in a manner that hurts, an attack that shakes the world.”

Smadi’s (pictured right) arrest for planting a bomb at the Fountain Place building came one day after Michael Finton (pictured left), a 29-year old Illinois resident, was arrested for attempting to detonate explosives at the federal courthouse in Springfield, Illinois. Finton, who allegedly stated ambitions to join Palestinian terrorist organizations like Hamas or Islamic Jihad, projected that an attack on American soil would force the U.S. government to curtail its financial support of Israel, and the “big bully behind Israel (the United States) would not be there anymore.”

According to ADL, Finton’s alleged plan to bomb the Springfield federal building is part of the growing trend of American Muslim extremists involved in terrorist plots against the U.S. who are motivated by a hatred of Israel or Jews.

New Blood Libel: Jews Accused of Harvesting Algerian Children’s Organs

A shocking story alleging that Jews abducted Algerian children and smuggled them into Morocco to harvest their organs is being widely circulated by various media outlets around the world and on the Internet, according to a new report by the Anti-Defamation League.

According to the ADL's report, the fabricated story was first published in the Arabic-language Algerian daily El-Khabar on September 6, and has since been reported by some major media outlets such as Al Jazeera and dozens of other news Web sites and blogs around the world, including anti-Semitic sites that appreciate its propaganda value.

This outrageous accusation, which also seems to be increasingly disseminated via email, is a modern variation of the anti-Jewish blood libel. The story claims that Interpol, the international police organization, has revealed the existence of “a Jewish gang” that was “involved in the abduction of children from Algeria and trafficking of their organs.” The story is based an alleged statement by a Mustafa Khayatti, who is identified as either an Algerian official or the head of an Algerian NGO. Khayatti claims that, "…Jewish organ trafficking gangs…remain active in several Arab countries."

An English version of the story appeared on the Web site of Press TV, a state-funded Iranian TV news channel. Al Watan, an Arab-American newspaper published out of Anaheim, California, was among the first to publish the story in the U.S. It has also appeared in The Palestine Chronicle, a Washington-based online publication that often prints anti-Semitic conspiratorial stories, and Islam Online, an online publication connected to Sheik Yusuf Qaradawi.

Muslim World League Uses English Language "Journal" to Peddle Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theory

The Muslim World League (MWL), which has been trying to position itself as the leading entity representing Muslims in international interfaith efforts, is tainted by the anti-Semitic themes it promotes through its English-language Journal.

The May 2009 issue of The Muslim World League Journal, which is distributed worldwide, features a shocking cover story propagating conspiracy theories about Jewish control of media, according to a new report by the Anti-Defamation League. The phrase 'Control of World Media' appears on the cover next to a large blue and white baseball cap - adorned with the Star of David - sitting atop a globe.

The cover story, titled "Six Companies Control the World's Media," appears to be an updated version of an article widely circulated on anti-Semitic Web sites for several years. Based on an original piece written by William Pierce, the former head of the neo-Nazi national Alliance, the article names of individuals heading media companies with the epithet 'Jew' or 'Jewess,' reads:

"One might conclude that the sheer number of different newspapers across America would provide a safeguard against Jewish control and distortion. However, this is not the case…it also illustrates the insatiable appetite Jews have shown for all the organs of opinion control on which they could fasten their grip."

Sabiqun and Anti-Semitism on Campus

The two principal leaders of Sabiqun, an anti-Semitic Muslim group that advocates for the creation of a global Islamic state, have become popular speakers on college and university campuses over the past several years.

The ADL reports that Sabiqun founder, Imam Abdul Alim Musa, who heads a mosque in Washington DC, and Imam Abdul Malik Ali, leader of a mosque in Oakland, California, have used their appearances on campus to promote hostility toward Israel and American Jews.

For example, during a speech at UC Irvine in May 2009, Malik Ali called supporters of Israel "the new Nazis" and told the students that "the Zionist Jewish community" wanted to stifle freedom of speech in order to "destroy your will to resist."

While Sabiqun appears to have a relatively small following organized primarily around two mosques in DC and Oakland, its leaders continue to be provided with a platform to spread their anti-Semitic and conspiratorial themes by student groups and others.

Update: LaRouche Supporters Hit Campus with Hateful Messages

In addition to protesting at town hall meetings and health care rallies around the country, there are new reports thatLyndon LaRouche's supporters have appeared at several college campuses with offensive signs comparing Obama to Hitler and placards alleging that health care reform is a "Nazi plan."

They've been at Temple University, Cal State Fullerton and California State University, Northridge, according to campus newspaper reports.

Lyndon LaRouche, Holocaust Imagery and the Health Care Debate

Lyndon LaRouche, a conspiracy theorist and leader of a fringe political cult, and his supporters have contributed to the divisiveness surrounding the public debate on health care reform by producing and disseminating materials comparing President Barack Obama and other government officials to Hitler, Nazis and fascists, and by attending Congressional "town hall" meeting and other events around the country.

The Anti-Defamation League reports that since May 2009, LaRouche and his network of supporters, many of which are part of the LaRouche Political Action Committee (LPAC), have focused on health care reform, producing signs, banners, pamphlets and other items that employ Nazi imagery, including the Hitler comparisons. In a May 4, 2009, LPAC statement, LaRouche described the Obama administration's health care proposals as "Nazi stuff."

In his publication, Executive Intelligence Review, and on his Web site, LaRouche consistently refers to the reform proposals as "Hitlerian" and "genocidal" and almost exclusively refers to the proposal as a "Nazi health plan." In August, LaRouche said Obama is "impeachable" because his health care proposal is based on "cost-effectiveness criteria--exactly the infamous 'T-4' policy imposed by Adolf Hitler in 1939."

LPAC members have promoted these offensive materials at many public forums around the country. For example:

August 17, 2009 – A woman identified by the LPAC Web site as a member of the LaRouche Youth Movement held up a picture of Obama with a Hitler mustache at a town meeting in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, and asked Congressman Barney Frank, "Why do you continue to support a Nazi policy?"

August 6, 2009 – LaRouche supporters protested a town meeting in Romulus, Michigan, holding up a poster of Obama with a Hitler mustache. The several hundred attendees of the meeting, according to an EIR article, went "wild with approval" at the sight of the sign.

June 16, 2009 – LaRouche PAC members held up a large banner on the street in Chicago, Illinois, with a picture of Obama wearing a Hitler mustache and the words, "Is this your President? Ask your local health care provider.

June 12, 2009 – LaRouche PAC members went to a town meeting led by Obama in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and circulated a pamphlet titled "Stop Obama's Nazi Health Plan!"

White Supremacist Arrested for Virginia Synagogue Vandalism

The Anti-Defamation League reports that White supremacist John Edward Grogan was arrested on August 9 for vandalizing numerous Virginia synagogues in April 2009. Grogan, along with yet unnamed additional suspects, was caught on video placing the stickers on a synagogue, according to authorities.

Grogan has numerous visible tattoos, including the white supremacist acronym ROA, which stands for "race over all" and is the slogan of Volksfront, a neo-Nazi group most prominent in the Pacific Northwest, but which has expanded on the East Coast in recent years. Volksfront's Virginia unit was upgraded from probationary status to full chapter status in August 2008.

Anti-Israel Facebook Groups: A Forum for Anti-Semitism

As anti-Semitism flourishes on a variety of social networking sites, Facebook in particular has become a convenient platform for users seeking to link their anti-Semitic views to discussions of Israel.

Much of the anti-Semitic commentary found on the discussion boards of anti-Israel Facebook groups echoes the hateful messages displayed at nationwide anti-Israel demonstrations that condemn Jewish power and compare Israelis to Nazis.

Here's a brief sampling of anti-Semitic comments found on Facebook:

“A Zionist Jew: ‘Thou shalt kill a non Jew’, ‘Thou shalt steal from a non Jew.’ An anti Zionism (a Jew): ‘Thou shalt not kill...until the appointed time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’ Same shit different assholes! During speeches at rallies, conferences and elsewhere, McKinney has accused Israel of committing genocide, apartheid and war crimes, and has repeatedly condemned U.S. support for Israel. She has even accused the pro-Israel lobby of sabotaging her political career.

Profiles In Anti-Semitism - Part III: Malik Zulu Shabazz

Malik Zulu Shabazz, the anti-Semitic and racist leader of the New Black Panther Party (NBPP), has sought to recast himself as a serious civil rights leader in recent years by cloaking his bigotry and intolerance in religious and civil rights principles and inserting himself in high profile, racially charged issues around the country.

Shabazz’s efforts have been supported, at times, by prominent members of the African-American community, which has provided him with a measure of status as a legitimate leader. This status is also reinforced by media accounts, which increasingly ignore his divisive record.

Shabazz’s attempts to gain acceptance and respectability are tainted, however, by his long record of racism and anti-Semitism, which he continues to embrace. That record includes promoting conspiracy theories about Jewish foreknowledge of the September 11 terrorist attacks and canards that Jews control the media and were “significantly and substantially” involved in the transatlantic slave trade.

Six Months Later: Revisiting the Anti-Semitic Response to Gaza Conflict

In December 2008 and January 2009, anti-Israel groups in the United States organized more than 200 demonstrations, rallies and other events in response to Israel's military action in Gaza to staunch the barrage of Hamas rockets hurled at Israeli towns and cities.

A coalition of groups that often unite in protest against Israel touted the protests as a response to Israel's “massacre of Palestinians.” Demonstrators used these rallies to express extreme anti-Israel and anti-Zionist messages, to engage in anti-Semitic rhetoric and offensive Holocaust imagery likening Jews and Israelis to Nazis, as well as to express support for terror.

Farrakhan's Michael Jackson Speech Marked by Anti-Semitism

Louis Farrakhan, the anti-Semitic and racist leader of the Nation of Islam (NOI), delivered an anti-Semitic tirade during a speech about Michael Jackson and how the performer suffered at the hands of powerful Jews throughout his career.

The three hour address, delivered at the NOI's headquarters in Chicago on July 26, 2009, was titled "The Crucifixion of Michael Jackson and all Responsible Black Leadership."

Farrakhan spoke of the "crucifixion" of influential African-Americans, including Jackson and Martin Luther King, Jr., at one point citing Zionist Jews as primary perpetrators of such action. "There are certain members of the Zionist faction of Jews," he asserted, "that have always wanted to control the means by which your crucifixion could take place. You notice how everyone that got crucified got first crucified in the media."

After noting Jackson's apparent failed attempts to work with prominent Jewish filmmaker Steven Spielberg, Farrakhan accused film industry executives of being racist in their portrayal of African-Americans, juxtaposing their alleged racism with his alleged anti-Semitism: "And how has Hollywood portrayed us? And who were the Hollywood moguls who portrayed us like that? Am I anti-Semitic or are they anti-black? They know our history and they wanted to keep our history from us so that we would never be inspired to rise above what they had portrayed us as."

Extremists Begin to Utilize Twitter to Broadcast Message

Starting in the spring of 2009, a number of right-wing extremist groups and individuals have begun using Twitter, a popular new Internet messaging tool, to broadcast their racist and anti-Semitic views. Twitter users write short lines of text up to 140 characters in length, called "tweets" by the service's creators, which allow users to broadcast short messages quickly to a number of people at once.

The service began in 2006 and has become increasingly popular over the past year, with various mainstream media outlets reporting on the growth of Twitter. Extremists have now begun to catch on to the technology, and may look to use it more in the future.

Hizb ut-Tahrir Emerges in America

Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT), an international organization that seeks to establish a worldwide Islamic theocracy, is increasing its efforts to spread its message and recruit members in the U.S.

HT held its first major event in the U.S., a conference entitled "Fall of Capitalism and Rise of Islam," at the Hilton in Oak Lawn, Illinois on July 19, 2009. Speakers at the conference focused on the HT's larger agenda of establishing a global Islamic caliphate, or Islamic rule worldwide, which entails ousting existing governments.

Jaleel Abdul-Adil, a professor of clinical psychology at the University of Illinois – Chicago, spoke about the role of Muslims in the U.S., arguing that every Muslim should utilize his skills in the struggle for an Islamic caliphate. During a question and answer session following his presentation, Abdul-Adil was asked if shari'a, or Islamic law, would trump the U.S. Constitution. "Yes, it would be gone," Abdul-Adil replied.

A closer look at the group's ideology and international activity reveals that HT not only promotes Islam as a way of life, but is also fundamentally opposed to capitalism and democracy and is explicitly hostile toward Israel and Jews. These basic tenets, along with its record of advocating violence, contradict the group's attempt to portray itself as a political party seeking change through nonviolent means.

North Carolina Arrests Demonstrate The Growing Threat By American Muslim Extremists

The indictment of seven North Carolina men for engaging in weapons training and conspiring to carry out "violent jihad" overseas serves as a troubling reminder of the increasing threat posed by American Muslim extremists.

According to the Department of Justice, the indictment alleges that the men – six U.S. citizens and a permanent resident – conspired to engage in "violent jihad" by traveling abroad to fight with mujahideen, or Muslim warriors, and to die "as martyrs." An eighth suspect, whose name has been redacted from court papers, is reportedly still at large.

According to initial reports, the men helped raise money and provide training for terrorist attacks in Tel Aviv, Israel. However, the indictment does not mention a specific terrorist plot, saying only that several of the men – including Daniel Patrick Boyd, his son Zakariya, and two other defendants Ziyad Yaghi and Mohammad Omar Aly Hassan – returned to the U.S. from Tel Aviv in June 2007 after "having failed in their attempt to engage in violent jihad."

The men are said to have amassed various weapons and practiced military tactics and weapons training on a private property in Caswell County, North Carolina in June and July 2009.

The Muslim World League (MWL) is a Saudi Arabia-based international organization that promulgates a fundamentalist interpretation of Islam around the world through a large network of charities and affiliated organizations.

In recent years, the MWL's has attempted to portray itself as a broad global Islamist organization, outwardly emphasizing tolerant aspects of Islam and promoting itself as a leader in interfaith dialogue. Its ideological backbone, however, is based on an extremist interpretation of Islam and several of its affiliated groups and individuals have been linked to terror-related activity.

While the MWL has on several occasions condemned terrorism in general terms, it has a long history of providing financial support to terrorist groups or having organizational links to them, including to Hamas, Abu Sayyaf group, Moro Islamic Liberation Front, Jemaat al Islamiyya, and Al Qaeda.

Yusuf al-Qaradawi Funding Hamas

Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a radical Muslim Brotherhood ideologue based in Qatar, reportedly allocated $21 million to Hamas to buy land in Jerusalem.

According to the Israel Security Agency Shin Bet, Qaradawi earmarked the money to buy apartments and plots of land and to “build charitable institutions to broaden its base in the city.” The name of the charity was not mentioned by Shin Bet.

Qaradawi, who has a long record of anti-Semitism, has previously transferred tens of millions of dollars to Hamas directly through the Saudi-based Union of Good, an umbrella organization of over 50 charities worldwide headed by Qaradawi.

Qaradawi, who has been banned from entering the U.S. since 1999 for his extremist views, has affiliations with several U.S.-based institutions. Qaradawi is chairman (in absentia) of the Michigan-based Islamic American University (IAU), a subsidiary of the Muslim American Society (MAS). Qaradawi is also listed by the IAU as a faculty member.

Al Mosul Islamic Network Magazine Identifies Jews and Others as “Enemies of Islam”

In July 2009, the media wing of Al Mosul Islamic Network released the inaugural issue of Defenders of the Truth, a self-described "English Jihad Magazine" that calls for Allah to "destroy the enemies of Islam…the Jews, Christians, Atheists, and the betraying criminals."

According to the editor's note, Defenders of the Truth is published to educate Muslims about the "war on Islam" and "the treacherous governments of the so called Muslim countries who bow down to the Christians and the Jews."

Hizb ut-Tahrir (Arabic for “Party of Liberation”), a radical political party seeking to restore the Caliphate across the Middle East and eventually worldwide, is stepping up its Western recruitment efforts by holding its first official Khilafah Conference in the U.S.

The conference, scheduled to be held July 19, 2009, at the Hilton Oak Lawn hotel, may attract a decent following due to the fact that the group seems to have become more active on online in the U.S., particularly on social networking sites like facebook and MySpace.

The group claims that Islam is in conflict with the existence of Israel. According to one observer quoted in a Fox News report, “some of their leaders have denied the Holocaust, and they believe homosexuals should be thrown off the highest building.”

Jeremiah Wright, the pastor emeritus at Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) in Chicago, is once again at the center of a controversy after making inflammatory statements about Jews and Zionists.

Wright blamed Jews for the fact that he has been out of touch with President Barack Obama in an interview with the Daily Press, a Newport News, Virginia-based newspaper, on June 9. Wright noted that "them Jews aren't going to let him talk to me."

In the same interview, Wright asserted that Israel is committing ethnic cleansing in Gaza, which he described as "a sin and a crime against humanity," and expressed his belief that the Obama Administration would have sent a U.S. delegation to the 2009 Durban Review Conference in April if not for fear of losing "the Jewish vote, the A-I-P-A-C vote, that's controlling him."

Viva Palestina Arrives in Gaza and Meets with Hamas

Approximately 200 American activists belonging to the Viva Palestina US convoy were allowed to cross into Gaza on the evening of July 15. Egyptian authorities are only permitting them to remain in Gaza for 24 hours.

While in Gaza today, the activists on the Viva Palestina US convoy met with Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, according to media reports. Haniyeh specifically met with the Neturei Karta members who were part of the convoy and reportedly told them that Jews aren’t the enemy. He said, "We view you as heroes, you are opening the eyes of the world to the siege in the Strip."

George Galloway and New York City Councilmember Charles Barron led the convoy as it arrived in Gaza. Galloway then gave a press conference to some international and local media outlets and said, “We are all here to say that the siege of Gaza must end… because it is a criminal siege which is killing people because of how they voted in a democratic election.”

At the press conference, Galloway also reiterated that he intends to organize a convoy from Venezuela and that Hugo Chavez will join the Venezuelan convoy.

The Viva Palestina US convoy had raised more than one million dollars but were only allowed by the Egyptian authorities to transport about a half million dollars worth of medical supplies to Gaza.

Westboro Baptist Church Targets Jewish Institutions

The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), based in Topeka, Kansas, regularly stages protests around the country, often several times a week, picketing institutions and individuals they think support homosexuality or otherwise subvert what they believe is God's law.

While WBC members have protested at Jewish institutions over the years, such institutions were not a major focus for the group until April 2009. Since then, WBC has targeted dozens of Jewish institutions around the country, from Israeli consulates to synagogues to Jewish community centers, distributing anti-Semitic fliers to announce planned protests at these sites. WBC has also been sending volumes (in some cases dozens over the course of a week) of faxes and emails with anti-Semitic and anti-gay messages to various Jewish institutions and individuals.

Fundraising for a Tainted Cause

Update: On July 4, approximately 200 activists with the Viva Palestina US convoy flew to Egypt. The convoy is currently waiting to cross into Gaza but have been held up by the Egyptian authorities. Organizers say the convoy will try to cross into Gaza tomorrow, July 14, but it is unclear if they will be allowed to do so.

Several prominent Americans are on board, including former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, NYC Councilperson Charles Barron, Alison Weir and several representatives of Neturei Karta, an anti-Zionist ultra-Orthodox group.

George Galloway, an anti-Israel British parliamentarian, is in the U.S. fundraising for Vi v a Palestina US, a convoy to Gaza that is scheduled to leave on July 4.

Earlier this year, Galloway organized a European Viva Palestina convoy that gave money and vehicles directly to Hamas. He was subsequently banned from entering Canada because of this.

Over the next two weeks, Galloway will be in Anaheim, San Diego, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, New York, New Jersey and Washington, DC, being wined and dined by local anti-Israel groups and collecting money for the Viva Palestina US convoy. The convoy is hoping to raise $10 million and 500 vehicles.

ADL has called on the Department of Justice to look into Viva Palestina US and investigate whether the money raised through this effort will once again go to a U.S.-designated terrorist organization.

Why Islam & Calling Islam: Ad Campaigns on Islam Supply Anti-Semitic Resources

Since the fall of 2008, a series of advertising campaigns on buses, subways and billboards across the country has directed the general public to anti-Semitic materials under the guise of raising awareness about Islam.

Several of the campaigns have been organized and funded by the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), including an advertisement campaign running on 50 municipal buses under the banner "WhyIslam" in the Washington, D.C. area. The advertisement, which began in June 2009 and is scheduled to run through the end of July, includes a Web address that directs visitors to various anti-Semitic materials.

A similar campaign, "Calling Islam," was organized by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in South Florida in November 2008. CAIR purchased 50 advertisements on buses in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The Web site associated with the advertisements that ran through January 2009 also featured conspiratorial anti-Semitic materials.

These campaigns falsely link anti-Semitism with Islam and belie ICNA and CAIR's efforts to portray themselves as responsible civil rights organizations.

Muslim Extremist Group to Hold Conference in the U.S.

Hizb ut-Tahrir America (HTA), a radical anti-Semitic group seeking to restore the Caliphate across the Middle East and eventually worldwide, is holding its first conference in the U.S. The conference is titled "Khilafah Conference 2009: Fall of Capitalism and Rise of Islam" and will take place in Oak Lawn, IL on July 19. Other Khilafah conferences are being held around the world, including in Australia and Britain.

Hizb ut-Tahrir (Arabic for "Party of Liberation") was established in 1953 in Jerusalem. The group is currently active in more than 45 different countries throughout the world. Although Hizb ut-Tahrir is not as active in the U.S. as it is overseas, there is information indicating that it has had a small presence here in the U.S. for more than 20 years. In recent years, the group has reportedly become more active on online chat forums and blogs.

The group is banned in several Arab and Central Asian countries, as well as Germany and Russia, although it still operates to some degree in those countries. The group's support in the UK is the strongest among non-Muslim countries, especially on university campuses. In the wake of the London bombings in 2005, the British goverment sought to ban the group after allegations it was linked to the bombing, but no official action has been taken yet.

In addition to its opposition to democracy, Hizb ut-Tahrir claims that Islam is in conflict with the existence of the state of Israel.

A New "Break the Siege on Gaza" Campaign

A new campaign plans to "March on Gaza" in January 2010. The campaign is being initiated by an international group called Coalition to End the Illegal Siege of Gaza and efforts in the U.S. are being orchestrated by Norman Finkelstein, a staunch anti-Zionist who regularly aligns himself with Palestinian terrorist groups.

In the past year or so, "break the siege on Gaza" campaigns have become a new weapon utilized by the anti-Israel movement.

Last August, a group of international activists called the Free Gaza Mov ement sailed by boat to Gaza in the hope of provoking a confrontation with the Israeli military. They were allowed to sail into Gaza and while there, they met with Hamas leadership, including Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh. The group has since reached Gaza on several other occasions.

Four days ago, a land campaign called Viva Palestina US left to Gaza. The group traveled to Egypt from New York and is now preparing to cross into Gaza in a show of support for the Palestinian people. A previous Viva Palestina convoy that went from Europe donated more than a million dollars and several hundred vehicles to representatives of Hamas in Gaza.

While these "break the siege" campaigns bill themselves as "humanitarian efforts," their willingness to blatantly break Israeli maritime law and their association and support of Hamas, a U.S. designated terrorist organization, defines these missions as provocatively anti-Israel and a show of support for terrorism.

Israel Blocks Activists' Boat from Entering Gaza Strip

Updated: After detaining the Free Gaza activists for several days, Israel deported the activists to their countries of residence and has stated that it will distribute the aid to the proper authorities in Gaza.

In a show of blatant disregard for Israel's laws and security, international activists with the Free Gaza Movement tried to enter the Gaza Strip early this morning by boat in an attempt to circumvent Israel's secure border crossings.

According to initial reports, the Israeli Navy intercepted and took control of the boat and has indicated that the aid aboard the boat will be distributed to the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Since last August, the Free Gaza Movement has sent several boat missions to Gaza to "break the siege" of Gaza and the "increasing stranglehold of Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine."

White Supremacists Arrested and Indicted for Arizona Mail Bomb

Federal authorities arrested two long-time white supremacists in northern Illinois for the 2004 bombing of a local government office in Scottsdale, Arizona, in which three people were injured.

On June 25, 2009, authorities charged brothers Dennis and Daniel Mahon with conspiracy to damage buildings and property by explosives, malicious damage of a building by explosives, and distribution of information related to explosives.

On February 26, 2004, a package containing a mail bomb was delivered to Donald Logan, the African-American director of the Office of Diversity and Dialogue in Scottsdale. The office handles complaints from city employees and citizens, including racial and sex discrimination grievances. The small, notebook-sized package exploded as Logan opened it, seriously injuring him.

Logan later required surgery for burns he received on his arms and hands. His secretary, who was standing beside him during the explosion, also required surgery to treat an eye wound. A third employee received minor injuries. The building and a nearby school were evacuated following the blast, which left a 3 and 1/2 inch-wide hole in the victim's desk, and shot shrapnel into the walls, ceiling and floor.

The bombing occurred a few days after more than 200 white supremacists – including Dennis Mahon – attended Aryan Fest 2004, a white power concert and white supremacist event organized by the neo-Nazi group Volksfront at a state park north of Scottsdale.

A Wave of Hate

Since the beginning of the year, there have been a number of plots, conspiracies and attacks against Jews and others. This trend reflects an overall increase in ideologically motivated violence in the United States. Many of the perpetrators do not belong to a specific extremist group or organization, but seem to be motivated to commit violence by their own extremist ideologies. Some of the more serious examples of these types of incidents, anti-Jewish and other, include:

June 2009 – Washington, DC
James Von Brunn (also known as James Wenneker Brunn), the suspect in the shooting at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC, is a longtime white supremacist and anti-Semite.

June 2009 – Arkansas
Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad (also known as Carlos Bledsoe) an American Muslim convert who shot two uniformed American soldiers - one of whom was killed - at a military recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas, reportedly searched for information about Jewish institutions on the Internet. He used the Google Maps application to investigate these Jewish institutions, as well as a Baptist church, a day-care center, a post office and other military recruiting centers in several different cities.

May 2009 – New York
Four Muslim converts, three American and one Haitian, were arrested for an alleged plot to attack two synagogues in the Bronx and to shoot down planes at a military base in Newburgh, New York. The men allegedly began surveillance of several synagogues and a Jewish Community Center in the Bronx in April 2009. "These were people who were eager to bring death to Jews," Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Snyder said at a court hearing the day after the arrests.

May 2009 – Connecticut
The suspect in a May shooting near Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut expressed threats in his personal journal toward Wesleyan and its Jewish students.

Last weekend, several anti-Israel groups attempted to organize a boycott of Israeli products sold at Trader Joe's and demanded that the company remove these items from its store shelves.

In response, Trader Joe's issued a statement saying: "we sell products, and do not use our products as political tools...[and] have no intention of removing any products based on pressure from any group."

According to a report in the Jewish Journal, activists in Oakland, Sacramento and San Francisco went ahead with their initiative by passing out leaflets in support of a boycott at local Trader Joe's stores and taking Israeli products off the shelves.

While boycott and divestment efforts against Israel are not a new tactic on the part of the anti-Israel movement, these sorts of campaigns have proliferated since Israel's military operations in Gaza. In February, a U.S.-based boycott group called the U.S. Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel was formed and anti-Israel groups on several college campuses attempted to pass resolutions advocating for an academic boycott against Israel during the spring semester.

White Supremacists: Jewish Power Responsible for Sotomayor Nomination

In the wake of President Obama's nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the United States Supreme Court, white supremacists and anti-Semites responded by claiming that alleged Jewish power was responsible for her nomination and previous career success. They also employed anti-Semitic stereotypes to argue that Sotomayor is herself Jewish, or as one person suggested, a "cryptojew."

Extremists constantly exploit current events, like Sotomayor's nomination, to demonize non-whites and, especially, Jews. They have capitalized on the Sotomayor nomination to characterize Jews as conspirators seeking world domination, having secretly orchestrated the appointment. Extremists also attempted to reinforce the common claim that Jews are seeking to destroy the white race, and they cited Sotomayor's Latino heritage as just another step in that process.

In one post, an individual predicted that Sotomayor's future activity on the Supreme Court will prompt white people to "get wise" and take up arms to "bring down ZOG." (ZOG refers to the "Zionist Occupied Government," a phrase used by anti-Semites to suggest that the Jewish people are engaged in a conspiracy to control government bodies, the media, and financial institutions.)

An American convert to Islam who shot two uniformed American soldiers - one of whom was killed - at a military recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas, reportedly searched for information about Jewish institutions on the Internet.

Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, arrested on June 1, 2009, had "political and religious motives," according to Little Rock police. Despite a gag order, Muhammad gave an interview from prison via collect call the week following his arrest. He reportedly said he wanted revenge on the American military and that the attack was "for the sake of God, for the sake of Allah, the Lord of all the world, and also a retaliation on U.S. military."

Muhammad also warned that other Muslims in this country "are going to attack."

"We believe that we have to strike back. We believe in eye for an eye. We don't believe in turning the other cheek," Muhammad said.

In the years before the Museum shooting, Von Brunn was most active as an anti-Semitic propagandist. Age had not dampened the racist and anti-Jewish beliefs that coursed through his veins. American Muslim Extremists: A Growing Threat to Jews

An increasing number of American Muslim extremists have been involved in terrorist plots and conspiracies in the U.S. in which Jews or Jewish institutions have been targeted or been considered for attack since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Many other American Muslim extremists arrested on a wide range of terror-related charges have expressed similar hatred of Jews and Israel.

The most recent example of this phenomenon is the American convert to Islam who shot two uniformed American soldiers - one of whom was killed - at a military recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, who was arrested on June 1, 2009, had "political and religious motives," according to Little Rock police. He reportedly searched for information about Jewish institutions on the Internet and used the Google Maps application to investigate these institutions, as well as a Baptist church, a day-care center, a post office and military recruiting centers in several different cities. Many other American Muslim extremists arrested on various terror-related charges have expressed similar hatred of Jews and Israel.

While foreign Muslim extremists motivated by hatred of Jews and Israel have targeted Jews in the U.S. for many years, an alarming number of post-9/11 plots and conspiracies have involved or been led by American Muslim extremists. Approximately 100 American Muslim extremists have been arrested on various terror-related charges since 9/11, ranging from bomb plots to providing material support to terrorists. More than half of them are U.S. born and about a third are converts to Islam.

Four Arrested in New York for Terrorist Plot against Synagogues

Local and federal law enforcement have thwarted a plot to bomb two synagogues in New York City. Four men, all from upstate New York, were taken into custody after planting what they believed to be bombs in cars outside two synagogues in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. One of the suspects, James Cromitie, who is of Afghani descent, allegedly told an informant that he was upset about the war in Afghanistan and that he wanted to “do something to America.”

All four of the men are charged with conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction within the United States and conspiracy to acquire and use anti-aircraft missiles.

This plot, which was clearly motivated by a hatred of Jews, is not an isolated event in the U.S. There have been several other instances of homegrown terrorist plots around the country motivated by anti-Semitism, including the 2007 Fort Dix terror plot, the 2006 bomb plot in Rockford, Illinois, the 2006 shooting in Seattle and the 2005 Los Angeles terror plot. In addition, there was a 2002 bomb plot in Southern Florida against Jewish-owned businesses, the Israeli Consulate in Miami and Jewish community centers.

The Muslim Student Union (MSU) at the University of California, Irvine is hosting a series of lectures in May 2009 featuring anti-Semites and anti-Israel speakers. The series, titled "Israel: The Politics of Genocide," included presentations by Imam Amir Abdul Malik Ali, the anti-Semitic leader of the Sabiqun movement, and former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. British MP George Galloway is expected to speak on campus later this week.

The most provocative of the lectures delivered so far were Malik Ali's two presentations on May 14 during which he stated that "Zionists" are "the new Nazis," "the party of Satan," and that "Zionism must be destroyed." He dedicated one of his presentations to the claim that the recent hate crimes legislation passed by the U.S. House of Representatives was in fact a conspiracy to consolidate Zionist control over the American people by criminalizing criticism of Israel and questioning the historicity of the Holocaust. Malik Ali received positive feedback from the audience of MSU members and supporters, Organizers standing behind Malik Ali held a large banner that read: "Death to Apartheid," implying that Israel is an apartheid state.

Westboro Baptist Church

The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), based in Topeka, Kansas, regularly stages protests around the country, often several times a week, against institutions and individuals they think support homosexuality or otherwise subvert what they believe is God's law. Targets include schools the group deems to be accepting of homosexuality; Catholic, Lutheran, and other Christian denominations that the WBC feels are heretical; and funerals for people murdered or killed in accidents like plane crashes. WBC also protests at funerals for American soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, a tactic the group started in 2005.

In April 2009, the WBC targeted Israeli consulates and Jewish organizations, distributing anti-Semitic fliers to announce planned protests at these sites. The group had picketed an Israeli consulate in Boston in March 2009, protesting Israel's tolerance of homosexuality. While members of the group have made public anti-Semitic statements over the years, until recently anti-Semitism has not been a major focus.

Minnesota Men Suspected of Joining Somali Terrorist Group

Approximately 20 young Somali-American men between the ages of 17 and 27 - most from the Minneapolis area - have traveled to Somalia to join a terrorist group in the last 18 months, according to U.S. authorities.

The FBI alleges that Al Shabaab (Arabic for "the Youth"), a U.S. designated terrorist group that seeks to overthrow the Somali government, has made an "active and deliberate attempt" to recruit these young men both in person and on the Internet.

On March 31, 2009, Al Shabaab released a propaganda video urging foreigners "to come and live the life of a mujahid." The video features an English speaking militant named "the American."

The FBI has expressed concern that the young men may return to the U.S. with their American passports and attempt to carry out an attack on U.S. soil. "The prospect of young men, indoctrinated and radicalized in their own communities... is a perversion of the immigrant story, FBI director Robert S. Muelller III said. Other U.S. officials, however, believe they will continue to participate in terrorism activities in Somalia instead.

Revolution Muslim (RM) is a New York City-based anti-Semitic Muslim organization that justifies terrorist attacks and other forms of violence against non-Muslims and seeks "the dismantlement of western, secular dominance across the world."

While the group is not known to be involved in any terrorist activity, its statements include implicit, if not explicit, threats of violence and its radical ideology is rooted in the propagation of violence.

RM was created in 2007 by Yousef al-Khattab, a Jewish convert to Islam, and has organized and participated in several anti-Israel demonstrations since its founding. In June 2008, members taunted marchers at the Israel Day Parade in New York with obscenities such as: "control the animal population, reopen Auschwitz…sanitize the Zionists…get the ovens burning."

The conference, titled "International Forum for Resistance, Anti-Imperialism, Solidarity between Peoples and Alternatives," was held on January 16-18, 2009, and hosted by the Consultative Center for Studies and Documentation (CCSD), a Hezbollah-affiliated think tank.

The conference was co-sponsored by several international far Left groups, including the International Campaign Against U.S. and Zionist Occupations, an umbrella organization that coordinates international opposition to Israel and to American military presence in the Middle East.

Justice Department Files Suit Against New Black Panthers

The U.S. Justice Department has filed suit against members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense (NBPP) over alleged voter intimidation by NBPP members on Election Day 2008.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Philadelphia on January 7, 2009, alleges that two NBPP members engaged in voter intimidation at a North Philadelphia polling station on November 4, 2008.

King Samir Shabazz, the group's local leader in Philadelphia, and Jerry Jackson, the chapter's chief of staff, stood outside the polling station in NBPP uniform. Shabazz, 38, brandished a police-style weapon. Jackson, reportedly a member of the 14th Ward Democratic Committee and certified poll worker, stated at the time that he was "making sure that media agitation does not disturb voters."

White Supremacists Target School Youth With White Power CD

Racist skinhead Bryant Cecchini, better known as Byron Calvert, is sponsoring "Project Schoolyard II," a campaign to place 30,000 CDs with anti-Semitic and racist lyrics in the hands of school children. Calvert, like many other white supremacists, hopes to use racist and anti-Semitic rock music as a recruitment tool and source of funding.

Calvert once worked for Panzerfaust Records, a now-defunct white-power music company. Through Panzerfaust, Calvert produced the first volume of Project Schoolyard in 2004 with the goal of printing and distributing 100,000 CDs.

The new CD is priced at 30 cents, and potential buyers are encouraged to distribute it free to children. Though the CD cover is purposely devoid of obvious white power symbols, "Project Schoolyard II" features songs by racist bands, including RAHOWA (which stands for "Racial Holy War"), Brutal Attack, and Skrewdriver, a British white power band popular in the 1980s and early 1990s. Featured songs include "Race Riot," "White Power," "Some Ni—ers Never Die," and "Aggravated Assault." In a song called "White Revolution," RAHOWA sings "So listen, slimy jew…You're gonna wish you were never even born when I get my hands on you…"

Jews and Westerners Targeted in Mumbai Terror Attacks

A series of devastating coordinated terror attacks in Mumbai, India, which killed over 170 people and wounded approximately 300, is the latest act of terrorism to specifically include Jews outside Israel among its targets.

At least ten armed militants attacked several locations frequented by tourists throughout Mumbai, including a railway station, a popular restaurant, a hospital, two hotels and a Jewish Center.

The attack, which lasted three days beginning on the evening of November 26, 2008, claimed the lives of at least 22 Westerners, including six Americans and four Israelis, and over 100 Indians.

Gunmen killed six Jews – four Israelis, an American and a Mexican - at the Nariman House, the Mumbai headquarters of the ultra-Orthodox Chabad Lubavitch movement. During the two-day standoff, the hostages were reportedly tortured by their captors before they were bound together and killed. Three of the victims at the Nariman House managed to escape, including an Israeli man and a two-year-old boy with his nanny.

In addition to the Nariman House, the militants held hostages at the Oberoi-Trident hotel and the Taj Mahal Palace hotel. They also attacked the Chhatrapati Shivaji railway station, the Cama and Albless Hospital, the Café Leopold and the State Bank of India.

Nine of the militants were killed and one, Azam Amir Kasab, was captured by Indian authorities. Kasab, a 21-year-old Pakistani national, reportedly said that he belongs to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a Pakistani-based Islamic terrorist organization with links to Al Qaeda. Kasab admitted that he the other gunmen trained at LeT camps in Pakistan for about six months before carrying out the planned attacks. At the terrorist training camp, the men allegedly learned close-combat techniques, hostage-taking, handling explosives, satellite navigation and high-seas survival skills.
Kasab also reportedly told Indian authorities that Israelis were specifically targeted to avenge atrocities on Palestinians, which is why they targeted the Nariman House. Some of the gunmen allegedly previously stayed in the Nariman House on a rental basis, identifying themselves as Malaysian students.

Despite recent media speculation about whether the Nation of Islam's (NOI) historically bigoted message is becoming more moderate, its longstanding anti-Semitic and racist message continues to be bolstered by Ashahed Maliki Muhammad, online correspondent for the NOI's publication, The Final Call.

Muhammad's anti-Semitic book, The Synagogue of Satan, is heavily promoted at the NOI's annual Saviours' Day convention and through The Final Call, which sells multimedia versions of the book and his speaking engagements.

Muhammad, formerly the national coordinator of the NOI Student Association, also served as publicity director for the NOI's Million Youth Movement event, held in Atlanta in 1998 to mobilize African-American youth.

Muhammad's public role in the NOI, in conjunction with his record of bigoted writings and speaking engagements, suggests that Farrakhan's legacy of hatred and anti-Semitism will remain entrenched in the NOI in his eventual absence.

The conspiracy theory that an all-powerful “Israel lobby” controls U.S. foreign policy and is trying to force a war with Iran has become increasingly prevalent. Once largely confined to the far left anti-Israel and antiwar movements, this accusation has gained traction and reached a wider audience.

Professors, political commentators and former government officials have accused Israel and its supporters in the U.S. of manipulating American policy toward Iran to serve Israel, often at the expense of America’s interests.

This theory disregards Iran’s blatant violations of its international treaty obligations and four U.N. Security Council resolutions which require Iran to cease pursuing a nuclear weapons program and its repeated threats against Israel. It portrays U.S. support for Israel and advocacy for increased sanctions against Iran as primarily the result of pro-Israel lobby efforts that disproportionately control U.S. foreign policy and discussions of the conflict in the media.

Some who espouse these views have also pointed to comments made by the U.S. presidential candidates during the election campaign in support of protecting Israel from the threat of Iran as evidence of the “Israel lobby’s” far-reaching control.

While these allegations against the “Israel lobby” are not a new phenomenon - when the U.S. invaded Iraq, similar narratives about the “Israel lobby’s” power and influence were evoked - as tensions with Iran escalate, this theory has gained significant traction and has found a place in the mainstream.

Far-Right and Muslim Extremists Gathered in Baltimore

Prominent anti-Semites on the American far right took part in a conference organized by Jamaat al-Muslimeen (JAM), a small Muslim organization that promotes Holocaust denial and anti-Jewish conspiracy theories, in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 16.

The conference, titled "International Islamic Conference," demonstrates how promoters of anti-Semitic ideologies from different backgrounds find common cause in their hatred of Jews and Israel. The conference also signals a burgeoning relationship between far right and Muslim extremists who are increasingly working together.

JAM leader Dr. Kaukab Siddique introduced the speakers throughout the conference, which was held in a hotel and attracted about 30 attendees. Siddique, an associate professor in the English department at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, told the audience, "We're under the grip of a Jewish Zionist power structure in this country" and referred to the "Zionist-controlled media."

Among the speakers from the far-right were Mark Glenn, a contributor to the anti-Semitic conspiracy-oriented newspaper American Free Press; Charles Carlson, director of We Hold These Truths, an Arizona-based anti-Semitic group; and Mark Weber, director of the Institute for Historical Review (IHR), a Holocaust denial organization.

Weber told the audience that not only was the Iraq war the result of "Jewish cabal," but that the same "Jewish cabal" is currently pushing for war with Iran . While he complimented John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt's book, "The Israel Lobby," he was critical of their failure to adequately address the "insidious" effect of Jewish influence on the U.S. Weber also said that Jews and Zionists have a grip on American media, as well as political and cultural life.

Charles Carlson focused on Christian and Jewish Zionists, which he described as "enablers of wars." According to Carlson, Christian and Jewish Zionism are not based on freedom. "We must confront Zionism ," Carlson said.

Mark Glenn's speech was titled "Islamic Extremism may save America." He suggested that the West and Islam would have been "just fine if it wasn't for this small number of people in the Middle East, in a tiny country, who can't seem to be happy unless they make the rest of the world miserable."

Hesham Tillawi, a Palestinian-American who hosts a weekly cable access and Internet television show out of Lafayette, Louisiana, which regularly features white supremacists, echoed some of the statements made by other speakers. In addition to saying that Zionists control all of the media, Tillawi said he doesn't believe Osama Bin Laden was responsible for the September 11 terrorist attacks. He also blamed "Jewish cable operators" for taking his original show off the air.

Notably, Ramsey Clark, former U.S. Attorney General and leader of the far-left International Action Center, also spoke at the conference. Clark described the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as being similar to Nazi crimes against her neighbors during WWII.

Another speaker presented a message on behalf of the Islamic Political Party of America (IPPA), a Muslim organization based in North Carolina. The speaker said that her party is for Muslims, Christians and "non-Zionist Jews." IPPA, which has cooperated with JAM since 2006, has spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, including the theory that "4000 Jews employed at the World Trade Center were absent at WTC on 9/11."

Among the publications available for purchase at the conference was The New Jerusalem: Zionist Power in America by Michael Collins Piper, a reporter for the American Free Press. Copies of the American Free Press were also available.

Several of the speakers, including Tillawi, Glenn, Carlson and Siddique, previously came together in Irvine, California, in October 2007 for a conference titled "No More Wars for Israel."
That two-day event, organized by Mark Glenn, consisted of a series of protests and lectures demonizing Jews and Israel and accusing both of controlling America and orchestrating the Iraq war. According to organizers, the conference also featured a videotaped message from Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in which he condemned Zionism as a racist movement and a danger to world peace.

White Supremacist Killing Spree and Obama Assassination Attempt Foiled

The Crockett County, Tennessee, Sheriff's Office, along with federal agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have uncovered and prevented what could have been the deadliest extremist shooting spree in years.

On October 22, 2008, two suspects, Daniel Cowart, 21, of Bells, Tennessee, and Paul Schlesselman, 18, of West Helena, Arkansas, were arrested on suspicion of possessing an unregistered firearm, conspiring to steal firearms from a federally licensed gun dealer, and threats against a major candidate for the office of president.

Schlesselman and Cowart allegedly informed officers they were planning a "killing spree" that would involve killing 88 people and beheading 14 African-Americans. Both numbers have symbolic significance to white supremacists. The number "88" is code for "Heil Hitler," while "14" is a reference to the "14 Words," a white supremacist slogan: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children."

Cowart had recently been involved with Supreme White Alliance, a hardcore racist skinhead group with members from several states, mostly in the Midwest. In April, Cowart even attended a Hitler's Birthday celebration held by the group in Cincinatti. The previous month he handed out racist flyers in front of a local Wal-Mart.

Upon request, the Anti-Defamation League provided information to the ATF on the two suspects, their associates and contacts, and on the Supreme White Alliance and its membership.

Hamas Blames “Jewish lobby” For Economic Crisis

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum said in a statement that the crisis was due to “a bad banking system put into place and controlled by the Jewish lobby.” He added, President George W. Bush has been silent about “the Jewish lobby that put the US banking and financial sector into place.”

“[The lobby] controls the US elections and defines the foreign policy of any new administration in a manner that allows it to retain control of the American government and economy,” Barhum said.

Muhammad al-Asi, a Muslim activist based in Washington DC, has made numerous anti-Semitic speeches around the country for several years.

Al-Asi is most often invited to speak to Muslim student groups in California and has made some of his more radical speeches at anti-Israel events organized by the Muslim Student Union at the University of California – Irvine. These events often feature a handful of radical anti-Semitic speakers, including Imam Amir Abdul Malik Ali and Imam Abdul Alim Musa.

In the early 1980s Al-Asi served as the imam of the in Islamic Center in Washington DC, and although he was barred from holding a position in the center, he still presents himself as the legitimate elected leader of the mosque. He has led protest services on the sidewalk in front of the center every Friday afternoon since he was fired in 1983.Al-Asi, who publicly swore allegiance to the Iranian Supreme Leader in 1994, is a research fellow at the Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought (ICIT), a pro-Iranian, pro-Hezbollah Islamist think tank that distributes anti-Semitic propaganda in its magazine, Crescent International.

Al-Asi is also affiliated with the UK-based pro-Iranian Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC). He coauthored the IHRC’s “Charter for Muslim Unity” (or, Charter 3:103), which was presented as a manifesto against sectarian violence and extremism. The charter was in fact designed to attract Sunni support for the Iranian theocratic Shiah regime. In London IHRC organizes the annual commemoration of Jerusalem Day, which was established as part of the Muslim calendar by the Iranian regime and serves to call for the destruction of Israel.

Among al-Asi’s associates is Ahmed Huber, a Swiss Nazi sympathizer who was implicated in laundering money for Al Qaeda, and Yaqub Zaki, a Holocaust denier associated with the Muslim Institute in London. Al-Asi has also joined with the leader of the anti-Semitic New Black Panther Party, Malik Zulu Shabazz, for several events in the Washington DC area.

Al-Asi’s speeches and articles portray Israel and Zionism as the final stage in a long process of corruption of the Jewish people. Al-Asi’s articles in Crescent International often refer to Jews, Zionists and Israel in the collective name Yahud, which is Arabic for “Jews.” Al-Asi also justifies violence, writing in one of his articles: “The Israeli Zionist are [sic] the true and legitimate object of liquidation.” He has also expressed his support for the Iranian religious edict calling for the death of British author Salman Rushdie.

Financial Crisis Sparks Wave of Internet Anti-Semitism

As the financial crisis continues to affect markets around the world, anti-Semites are still using it to promote conspiracy theories about Jewish involvement in the crisis, and anti-Semitic statements and other anti-Jewish messages are appearing on a daily basis on financial Internet discussion groups and on Web sites and blogs both in the U.S. and abroad.

The crisis has also given birth to new anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. One of the most common rumors being circulated on the Internet suggests that, just prior to the collapse of Lehman Brothers, "$400 billion was frantically transferred to banks in Israel" by the company.

That conspiracy theory, which has no basis in fact, is reminiscent of the one that emerged immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which claimed that "4,000 Jews" did not report to work at the World Trade Center that day because they had advance warning that an attack was imminent. That Big Lie is now believed by many around the world.

Posts and public comments on financial message boards, Web sites and blogs have perpetuated anti-Semitic stereotypes and conspiracy theories alleging Jewish control of the U.S. economy, banking and government and blaming Jews for the country's financial turmoil. Some posts have gone so far as to resurrect Nazi-era propaganda with threads such as, "The Jewish Problem...They need to be stopped….." or comments such as, "The Final Solution 2."
